Terms and Conditions

  • Entries must be received by 5 pm Sunday 16 September 2018. Entry to the Selection Exhibition is to be registered at gallery@jcaa.org.au.
  • There is a $10 non-refundable administration fee to enter the Selection Exhibition, payable at the point of registration. There is no guarantee of Selection.
  • For students registered in primary school or high school. Open for students aged 8 – 18, as of September 2018.
  • Artists must reside in Western Australia. Each entrant may submit one work only. Work must be original and completed after August 2017.
  • Two Dimensional works must not exceed a height/width of 60 cm x 60 cm.  Three Dimensional works must not exceed 60 cm x 60 cm in any direction.
  • Accepted Mediums: Acrylic Mixed Media Pastel Print Textile Clay Watercolor Oil, Work on Paper or Canvas
  • Artists of works selected will be notified via email or phone by Monday 17 September 2018.
  • If you are contacted, works must be delivered on Wednesday September 19 between 2 pm – 6 pm to Joondalup Art Gallery, 4/48 Central Walk, Joondalup.
  • Works must be delivered suitably presented and ready for display/hanging. Flat wet paintings will not be accepted.
  • Decisions for award recipients will take place prior to Sunday 21 September.  The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence or conversation will be entered-into. The judges’ selection will be based on a demonstrated high level of technical skill, creativity and originality. The ‘People’s Choice Award’ will be voted for during the Exhibition.
  • It is the artist’s responsibility to ensure that his/her work is not subject to liable, defamation of character or in violation of copyright laws.
  • The Joondalup Art Gallery reserves the right not to hang all works.  From the images submitted, up to 150 works and 25 sculptures will be selected and displayed at the Exhibition at the discretion of the curator team.
  • Works selected for the exhibition do not have to be for sale. Sale price, however, must include a 20% commission. The Joondalup Art Gallery will act as an agent on behalf of the artist for any sale of artworks, and will collect 20% commission on the sale of artworks in the exhibition.
  • The Award Announcements and Exhibition Opening will take place on Friday 21 September, 4 pm, at Joondalup Art Gallery, 4/48 Central Walk Joondalup. Each exhibiting artist will receive an invitation to attend.
  • All unsold works are to be collected Sunday 7th October between 12 pm -3.30 pm from Joondalup Art Gallery, 4/48 Central Walk Joondalup. Works not collected will become the property of the Gallery.
  • The artist agrees to allow any work to be reproduced in part or whole by print or electronic media only for promotion of the Selection Exhibition and the Joondalup Art Gallery. Copyright remains the property of the artist.
  • Artists will receive payment by October 16 2018 for any works sold.

  • It is not necessary to attend workshops to be part of the Selection Exhibition
  • Payment for Workshops is separate to Selection Exhibition Entry.
